Executive Vice President and General Counsel
Rik Toulon serves as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of CBS Films, joining the company in June 2008. In this role, he oversees all legal activities for the company as well as performing certain business functions in connection with the company’s distribution, finance, acquisition, key vendor and strategic alliance arrangements.
Prior to joining CBS Films, Toulon was a Partner in the Entertainment and Media Group of the law firm of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. During his tenure in private practice, he represented major studios, independent production companies, television networks, new media distribution platforms, video game publishers, toy creators, visual effects companies, investors, producers, writers, rights holders and other institutional and individual clients on various transactions, including the development, production, financing and distribution of numerous feature films, and acted as lead entertainment counsel in connection with multiple multi-billion dollar major motion picture studio acquisitions.

Toulon has been consistently recognized in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business as a leading California media and entertainment transactional attorney, in Los Angeles Magazine as a Southern California Super Lawyer in entertainment and media and in Best Lawyers in America. He started his legal career as a corporate lawyer with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meager & Flom LLP and received a J.D. degree from the University of Southern California and a B.A. degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. Toulon is a member of the Planning Committee for the University of Southern California Institute on Entertainment Law and Business and a member of the Board of Councilors for the University of Southern California School of Theatre.
